A peek into “Faces and Flora: The Philippine and Japan Native Flora” photography exhibition catalog, made possible through the Museum Foundation’s support for the National Museum’s Botany and National Herbarium Division.

This project bridges the gap between art and science by producing a joint exhibition in collaboration with a Filipino award-winning photographer Jan Mayo and the Intermediatheque Museum, University of Tokyo about the selected indigenous and endemic plants in Japan and in the Philippines. Part of the collaboration between the University Museum, the University of Tokyo (UMUT), and the National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) under the international agreement renewed in 2023. The project was inspired by the successful exhibition in the NMP at the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) last February – May 2024 featuring the endemic and native Philippine species. This exhibition is the first international exhibition featuring collections of the NMNH through the Philippine National Herbarium (PNH).
