11th National Museum Basic Museology Training

The National Museum invites you to the 11th National Museum Basic Museology Training from September 4 to 14, 2007 at the National Museum Main, P. Burgos Avenue, Ermita, Manila. The nine-day training which will be presented through lectures and workshops, covers a wide range of topics:
- Philosophy of museums
- Museum establishment, management and operation
- Standards and procedure in acquisition and documentation of museum objects
- Preventive conservation of artifacts and other specimens
- Exhibit development
- Museum education
- Security in museums
- Assessment of museum buildings
Specialists will share their expertise and insights in various phases of museum work, including contexts, issues and why museums matter. Beginners, old timers and enthusiasts are enjoined to participate in this unique museum experience!
A registration fee of P6,500 per individual, includes a field trip to selected museums, training kit, supplies and materials, as well as morning and afternoon snacks. Since the number of participants is limited, acceptance to the training is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservation fee is P1,000.00 payable until July 31, 2007. Deadline for full registration is on August 16, 2007. Only 20 participants can be accommodated.
