Aliwalas Tour of Bohol

posted on December 15th, 2009

An MFPI exclusive this January: Aliwalas Tour of Bohol

The tour has been exclusively organized by Mr. Ino Manalo for the Foundation’s members.

With a background rich in the Philippine art and literary world, Ino has been assistant professor of Art History at the U.P., former Assistant Corporate Secretary of Metrobank Foundation and former Director of the Metropolitan Museum of Manila. These past few years have had Ino Manalo involved with the development of the cultural tourism of the province. He is helping to set up two community walking tours. He now lives in a lovely 1940s house in Baclayon town which is filled with art works from Bohol that he has been collecting since he was a high school student.

For three days and two nights, Ino will guide us to his favorite spots in Bohol. We will depart Manila for Tagbilaran the morning of Friday Jan. 22 and depart Tagbilaran for Manila early afternoon Sunday on Jan. 24. We will be staying at the Amarela Resort. Package details can be found at the lower portion of the email.

Since the Metropolitan Museum’s major exhibit on Bohol in 2003, Ino Manalo has been involved with the development of the cultural tourism of the province. His most recent publication is Sukaran, a documentation of the vernacular domestic architecture of two Bohol towns which he co-authored with Prof. Marianito Luspo.
